About ME

Hi, I’m Shy, the owner of The Shy Effect. I am a licensed esthetician, award-winning educator & have over a decade of makeup experience, specializing in flawless bridal makeup, custom facials, spray tans, full-body waxing and so much more. My passion for both beauty and skin health allows me to create radiant, camera-ready looks that truly last.

Beyond working with brides and being in my treatment room, I also mentor aspiring makeup artists and estheticians by sharing my knowledge, creativity, and love for the craft. I am originally from a small town just north of Columbus and currently reside in Mount Gilead with my husband Zach. When I am not taking clients, you’ll find me traveling, bike trailing, going to local breweries, cheering at local sports events and spending time with beloved cat Macy.
